In 2015 a Lumberyard agile team was tasked with creating and developing a UI editor for the Lumberyard game engine. I worked with a handful of engineers to help drive forward the direction of this tool. When I joined the team, they had already began development on the tool. I began by organizing and moderating a usability study with 8 game developers from our internal game studios. We then took the feedback from the design and used those findings to help inform a group brainstorm on priorities, which helped me to iterate on the design of this editor using our developing pattern library. The tool was released with V1 of the engine, and the team continues to iterate and add features.
